WHAT IS A DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning is a gentle form of manual exfoliation of the skin that resurfaces sun-damaged, dull, dehydrated skin.

HOW DOES A DERMAPLANING WORK?
Dermaplaning is performed by using a surgical blade that gently scrapes the outermost layers of the epidermis, ridding it of dead skin cells, impurities, and debris. This treatment is an excellent way to exfoliate the skin and to regenerate new skin cells, leaving the complexion smooth, soft, and vibrant.
Dermaplaning can:
• Remove light surface wrinkling Smooth acne scarring Improve skin texture
• Even out skin tone Help to unblock blackheads
• Reduce pore size
• Remove facial hair (hair does not grow back thicker)
• Generate new healthy cell
• Enhances penetration of skin care products

Dermaplaning is a safe treatment when performed by a professional. All skin types and colors can benefit from dermaplaning or blading. This quick, non-surgical procedure is pain-free. There is no swelling or pain associated with the dermaplaning procedure. Most people say it feels good and there is absolutely no downtime.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY APPOINTMENT?
During your appointment, your provider will ask you to lay down on the treatment table. Using the surgical blade, she will gently “shave” the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (peach fuzz). Clearing this dead skin and peach fuzz helps kick-start the cell regeneration process and leaves your skin with a smooth appearance and a radiant glow. Dermaplanes are performed on clean, dry skin on the forehead, cheeks, chin, nose, and neck. Please keep in mind that dermaplaning is not a suitable treatment if you have excessive facial hair.

HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
The dead skin cells and fine peach fuzz will come back, so it is important to have a dermplane at least monthly. You can expect to see an instant improvement in skin texture and tone, while the long-term effects of dermaplaning are increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles, and dark spots, reduction of acne scarring, and the removal of fine facial hair.
